The national brigade of the judicial police (BNPJ) opened Wednesday a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office against an individual allegedly involved in the apology of terrorist acts. The police of Meknes initiated inquiries and investigations in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) after suspecting the respondent, a 38-year-old policeman dismissed from his duties in 2015, of preventing his twin children from joining the school while teaching them textbooks apologetic of extremist thoughts, the National Police (DGSN) said in a statement. The searches conducted at the home of the suspect led to the seizure of a banner of the ISIS terrorist organization, a white cloth with religious inscriptions as well as a knife and a cell phone, currently undergoing technical expertise, the same source added. The suspect was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor's office to clarify the circumstances of this case and identify its possible links with an individual or collective project to undermine public order.
