Frontline workers in different parts of the country received their first doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine. The campaign was launched on Thursday, after King Mohammed VI received his first vaccine shot, launching the start of vaccination in Morocco. The first phase of said vaccination campaign will target frontline workers and senior people aged 75 and over across the country. In the Laayoune-Sakia-El Hamra region, ten health workers affiliated with the Health Ministry received, Thursday, their first vaccine shots at the Moulay El Hassan Bin Mahdi Regional Hospital in the city of Laayoune. In the same city, 16 vaccination stations have been set up : 10 in urban areas, 6 in rural areas, 5 in Smara, 5 in Boujdour and 7 in Tarfaya. In the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region, 12 health workers, including the Regional Director of Health, received their first vaccine shots against the coronavirus. Vaccine shots will be taken in the region in 267 fixed vaccination station and 909 mobile ones. These mobile stations will target remote villages and towns, with the help of 387 vaccination teams that include doctors and nurses. Meanwhile, the vaccination campaign was also launched in the Fez-Meknes region, where the Regional Director of Health Mahdi Al-Ballouti received his first injection at the Sidi Ibrahim urban health center. On Thursday evening, the Oriental region launched the first phase of the vaccination campaign at the Higher Institute of Nursing Professions and Health Technologies in Oujda, where health workers (aged 40 and over) will be getting their first shots. To secure the campaign, the region is relying on 43 vaccination centers : 6 in Oujda Anjad, 5 in the Berkan provinces, 7 in Nador, 3 in Driouch; 4 in Guercif, 6 in Taourirt, 6 in Jerada and 6 in Figuig. Vaccine shots in Marrakech, Dakhla and Tangier Health workers in the Marrakech-Safi region have also started the campaign, with ten health workers receiving their first shots in Marrakech. The regional directorate of health in the Marrakech-Safi region has 435 vaccination stations, 790 mobile units and 459 medical teams to lead the campaign. 3,077 people are expected to receive vaccine shots, 80 percent of the region's population over 18. In the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, ten health workers received, Thursday, their first anti-Covid-19 shots in Dakhla. The region has three vaccination centers; two of them are in Dakhla and one in Aousserd. Meanwhile, three mobile teams will help vaccinate people living far from these centers. In the Draa-Tafilalet region, the vaccination campaign started yesterday and the first vaccine injections were given to ten health workers. In the region, 89 vaccination stations are located in the city of Errachidia. In Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, the vaccination campaign also started on Thursday at the Ibn Sina University Hospital in the city of Rabat. In Guelmim Oued Noun, the first dose of the vaccine was provided to a group of health workers in the city of Guelmim. More than 90 centers have been made available for vaccination in the region. Tangiers, the capital of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, witnessed the official launch of the campaign in the region, as the first dose of the vaccine was given to a group of health workers in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Health.
