The judicial police in Nador foiled, on Wednesday based on precise information by the Directorate General for Territorial Surveillance, a trafficking operation of heroine, cocaine and psychotropic pills from Melilia to Morocco by sea. This operation was carried out in the Beni Ansar port in Nador, said a statement by the DGSN, noting that the police seized a fishing boat coming from Melilia's coastline, carrying 5.570Kg of cocaine, 2Kg of heroine, 3.420 psychotropic pills and 400 grams of a white chemical substance. The search operation enabled to arrest four individuals for alleged links with the activity of the criminal network involved in the trafficking attempt of these quantities of hard drugs and psychotropic pills, the statement said, adding that the search at the houses of the suspects led to the seizure of 190Kg of chira, knives, three cars bearing counterfeit plates, an electronic scale and large sums of money suspected of coming from these criminal activities. The suspects, were remanded in police custody for the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to identify the persons involved in this criminal network, the routes used in these trafficking operations, and the ramifications of the network nationally and internationally, said the DGSN, noting that samples of the seized narcotic and chemical substances were submitted to the forensic laboratory for the necessary expertise.
