Moroccan authorities have not yet implemented the need of presenting an immunization certificate for travelers coming from the Philippines, Morocco's embassy in the Southeast Asian country said Monday. According to ABS CBN News, Morocco was listed among the countries that require vaccination certificates from travelers departing from polio-affected territories, including the Philippines, citing a World Health Organization (WHO) report. However, the Kingdom has not yet been implementing this requirement. «We didn't get anything yet from Morocco», El Kbir Ez-Zahouaini, Morocco's Deputy Head of Mission in Manila, told the same newspaper. «We have to investigate with Morocco if they implement it or not», Ez-Zahouaini added. For the record, poliomyelitis, a crippling and potentially deadly infectious disease, has reemerged in the Philippines in 2019, almost 20 years after the country was declared polio-free, the newspaper concluded.
