The new Algerian ambassador to Morocco is Abdelhamid Abdaoui, the former head of the Algerian diplomatic mission in Kuwait. This announcement was surprising as Algerian Acting President Abdelkader Bensalah appointed Abdelaziz Benali Cherif to the same position in August. The first appointment has reportedly been unappreciated by Rabat. The Algerian press agency APS announced that the Moroccan government approved the appointment of Abdelhamid Abdaoui. The diplomat is expected to join Rabat in the upcoming days.
