After the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) denied his resignation, rumors linked to Hervé Renard's future with the Atlas Lions have not stopped. According to French newspaper France Football, Renard could be replaced by Vahid Halilhodzic, a 67-year-old Bosnian football coach who is the current manager of Ligue 1 club Nantes. «The Bosnian manager, who is not in good terms with his leaders and who will have his contract with Nantes expire on June 30, told people close to him that the Moroccan federation is interested in his profile», the French sports platform wrote. He also said that Hervé Renard will «officially resign in the upcoming days» and that he reportedly received offers form African and Asian teams. «His assistant Patrice Beaumelle (41), will also leave Morocco and wouldn't be with Renard for his next mission», he added. The French-Bosnian coach has already worked in Morocco. He managed Raja Casablanca in the 1990s and won the 1997 CAF Champions League in December 1997, and the 1997–98 Moroccan Championship in May 1998. The former international footballer has been coaching FC Nantes since October 2018.
