Young Muslims planted, on Friday in Casablanca, three olive trees in the Neve Shalom synagogue, the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Lourdes and the mosque of Zaouia Harakia Kadiria as part of an action of fraternity and tolerance dubbed «Let's Plant the Fraternity». Initiated within the framework of the «Label Morocco l'Ghedd», which brings together 20 youth associations throughout the Kingdom, this action is held at the same time in Oujda, Fez, Rabat, Essaouira, Marrakech and Brussels. Speaking on this occasion, president of the association «Marocains Pluriels» Ahmed Ghayet said that this initiative reinforces the spirit of love, tolerance and brotherhood calling for fighting extremist ideas. He recalled that Islam is a religion of tolerance and fraternity, adding that Christians, Muslims and Jews have been living together in this land of peace, which is Morocco, for centuries. For his part, Rabbi of the Neve Shalom synagogue Jacky Sebag emphasized that this action reflects the spirit of fraternity and coexistence that exists among all religions. President of the Zawia Harakia Shadilia Darkawia in the Casablanca-Settat region Asharif Omar Lamrani Lamrini welcomed the initiative which is in perfect harmony with the policy advocated by the Kingdom towards other religions.
