Houthies have urged Morocco to withdraw from the Saudi Arabian-led intervention in Yemen. A senior Houthi official said that «there is no reason to kill the Yemeni people and support the intervention». This call comes as rumors circulating lately, suggested that Morocco will withdraw from the war. The Kingdom was one of the first countries to join the Saudi war against Iranian-backed Shiite militias in the country. «When Saudi Arabia made its decision, Morocco had no choice but to support legitimacy in Yemen» and «respond to the call» launched on the 24th of March in 2015 by President Hadi Mansour, stated former Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane in a forum in Qatar. The UN has repeatedly condemned the coalition's operations in Yemen. On August the 10th, and following the death of at least 29 Yemeni children in a raid, the Security Council called for the opening of an investigation.
