The third and final repatriation operation of Moroccans stranded in Libya was launched Friday evening. It will include 338 people, who will be transported to the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca via two planes by the Libyan airline company Afriqiyah, said in a statement the Ministry in Charge of Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs. This operation, the third in five months, comes after the repatriation of 200 Moroccans on the eve of Aid Al Adha who were brought to Morocco aboard a flight provided by the same Libyan company. Another 235 individuals were repatriated by a Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight via the airport of Djerba (Tunisia), indicates the ministry in a statement. Like previous operations, this one was coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the Directorate of Consular and Social Affairs, as well as the Moroccan Embassy in Tunis. The Moroccan security services were sent on-site to determine, in collaboration with the Libyan authorities, the identity of the Moroccan nationals stranded there. In addition to that, the communiqué underlines that the delegated ministry in charge of Moroccans residing abroad set up the logistic conditions to transport by road the repatriates, from the airport of Casablanca to their cities of original residence, assisting them throughout their trip home.
