A video that went viral on the internet, this week in the United States, shows a student wearing a hijab and someone taking off her scarf while exposing her hair, reports WSMV on Thursday, an NBC-affiliated television station licensed to Nashville, Tennessee. The video, which was uploaded on the social media app Snapchat with the caption «pretty hear», shows other students touching the girl's hair while she was covering her face. Another video of the same girl emerged later on under the caption «lol all that hair covered up». According to the same source, the two videos are believed to be recorded at the New Vision Academy Charter School in Nashville. The two videos were sent to the American virtual TV channel by a viewer who stated that they were posted on the teacher's social media account. Trying to find out who posted the two videos, the TV channel visited the school on Tuesday and met with its principle who promised to investigate the matter. By the evening of the same day the student's family was shown the videos and replied saying that «this should never happen». On Wednesday, the same source learned that the school suspended the teacher without pay. Later on, News 4 was sent a statement issued by the school's principle indicating that : «New Vision will use this video as an opportunity to press forward with increasing cultural sensitivity and awareness among all members of the New Vision community. The staff member in question has been suspended, without pay, and we have had direct discussions with the students depicted in the Snapchat».
