After restoring its diplomatic ties with Cuba, Morocco will open an embassy in La Havana. Speaking to Le 360, a diplomatic source states that «Morocco will soon open an embassy in Cuba». The same source who decided to remain anonymous to the readers, indicated that Cuba has backed Morocco in 2006, when it condemned the presence of a group of representatives of the Polisario separatist movement in an international event. Morocco broke off relations with Cuba since1980 after the latter announced its support to the Polisario front. However, things got back to normal when the King visited in March the Cuban capital in an unofficial visit. The bilateral ties were reestablished between the two nations last month when the heads of the permanent missions of Cuba and Morocco to the UN met in New York.
