Andrew Parmley Lord Mayor of the City of London arrived to Morocco this week to boost the bilateral relations between the two kingdoms. Received by senior Moroccan officials, the representative of the UK financial districts visited Casablanca's Stock Exchange headquarters as part of a tour of North Africa. He sat with businessmen to discuss the reinforcement of trade in the region after Brexit. According to Buzzfeed news, Parley is leading a delegation that looks forward to promoting business opportunities linking Morocco to the UK. Speaking to the same source, Hakim Marrakchi director of the CGEM, stressed on Morocco's ability to support the UK : «Of course, Morocco has a very old relationship with the UK and Brexit is a way for us to renew that relationship, and we have noticed that there are several strategic opportunities for Morocco.» «There is a possibility for us to renegotiate better deals as the interests of certain European countries aren't necessarily the same as Britain's», said Marrakchi. «Aeronautics, the automobile industry, energy, and renewable energy in particular», these are all potential sectors that might bring the UK and the Moroccan Kingdom closer as stated by Hakim Marrakchi. Following infamous 2016 referendum vote, the Kingdom's government initiated the official EU withdrawal process on the 29th of March 2017. In order to answer the recurring question «what's after the Brexit?», Andrew Parmley was assigned with the task of fighting in the Brexit battle alongside a delegation sent to North Africa.
