A widely circulated video on social media led to the dismissal of the regional delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Tata province after he was seen driving an official vehicle in Agadir while heavily intoxicated, with bottles of alcohol inside the car. The video, recorded by two young men on Saturday night and widely shared on Sunday morning, sparked a wave of anger and discontent. It showed the official obstructing traffic and insulting the two young men in a public street after they asked him to stop using the official car outside of working hours. According to media sources, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatima Zahra Ammor, decided on Monday afternoon to relieve the delegate of his duties and assigned the regional tourism delegate in Agadir to take over his responsibilities on an interim basis. This decision, according to the same source, comes amid increasing complaints regarding the dismissed official's management style, as well as his repeated absences from the workplace, culminating in the video incident that expedited his dismissal.
