La Croisée des Chemins Publishing, in partnership with the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), is releasing the Moroccan edition of Najat Vallaud-Belkacem's autobiography. Originally published in 2017 by Grasset, this book offers a rare and valuable insight into the journey of a woman with multiple identities. Born in Beni Chiker, Morocco, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem never imagined that, a few decades later, she would become a minister in France. Through exile, integration, and political commitment, she shares the struggles and questions that have marked her path in a world beset by doubts and identity tensions. Through an intimate and sincere narrative, she reflects on her childhood, her political rise, and her return to the village of her youth, where she examines what within her has withstood time and borders. Rejecting identity assignments and simplistic shortcuts, the former minister offers a reflection on exile, belonging, and the new barriers erected against those who, like her, have grown up between two cultures. Najat Vallaud-Belkacem has held several ministerial positions in France, notably in Women's Rights and National Education. Currently the president of France Terre d'Asile, she continues her commitment to migrants' rights and equal opportunities.
