The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), a state-owned entity under Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, signed an agreement on Monday with OCP Group, OCP Fertilizers, OCP Nutricrops, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University during a visit to Morocco. The agreement focuses on sharing advanced agricultural technologies, training researchers and students, and promoting eco-friendly farming. It includes developing better fertilizers, adopting digital farming methods, improving crop nutrition, and supporting sustainable agriculture. Additionally, the initiative seeks to enhance academic collaboration between the two countries. The signing, held at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Ben Guerir, was attended by key officials, including Embrapa's president, Silvia Massruhá and former Brazilian Agriculture Minister Roberto Rodrigues, now a consultant for OCP. «This initiative strengthens joint efforts that will enhance research in both Brazil and Morocco, fostering knowledge exchange and the development of innovative solutions for future challenges», said Massruhá, who led Embrapa's delegation. «By combining our expertise with Embrapa's globally recognized knowledge, we aim to help farmers increase crop yields and nutritional quality, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable future», added Marcos Stelzer, CEO of OCP Fertilizers. Embrapa's visit to Morocco continues until February 26, with scheduled activities including a visit to an experimental farm in Marrakesh, participation in workshops, and trips to OCP's mining units in Ben Guerir and its fertilizer production platform in Jorf Lasfar, the largest of its kind in the world.
