The Mohammed V Stadium is set to reopen by the end of March, showcasing a revamped look that honors its storied past. This announcement was made on Thursday by Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). «The redevelopment work is at a very advanced stage. Only a few weeks remain before completion. The complex will reopen at the latest by the end of March», stated Lekjaa. He made these remarks during a field visit alongside Mohamed Mhidia, the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Aziz Dades, the Governor of the Casablanca-Anfa district, and Abdeslam Belkchour, President of the Moroccan National Professional Football League (LNFP), to review the renovation progress at the stadium. Lekjaa highlighted that the refurbishment has increased the stadium's seating capacity to over 44,000 spectators. The facility now boasts modern amenities, including upgraded locker rooms, a press tribune, and various spaces designed to ensure smooth public access. He stressed that this iconic football venue will be a significant achievement for Casablanca. Additionally, as part of Morocco's bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the city will also witness the construction of the Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane, with a capacity exceeding 115,000 spectators.
