Egypt has signaled its intent to engage in the development of infrastructure and sports facilities for the 2030 World Cup, which is set to take place in Morocco. Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, who serves as Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, expressed this ambition during a meeting with Moroccan Ambassador to Cairo, Mohamed Ait Ouali. El-Wazir stated, «Egyptian companies that have successfully executed mega projects in Egypt and across African nations are fully prepared to undertake projects in Morocco, particularly those related to the 2030 World Cup.» Reports from Egyptian media indicate that the Moroccan ambassador responded positively, emphasizing that «Egyptian companies should actively participate in the tenders for these projects». He also highlighted the necessity for intensive meetings between officials from both countries in the near future to facilitate this cooperation. Furthermore, the Egyptian official underscored the importance of enhancing joint cooperation between Egypt and Morocco. He noted that last year, both nations launched the Marrakesh Declaration, aimed at fostering significant collaboration in various sectors, including transportation and industry, reflecting their mutual aspirations for strengthened industrial ties.
