A Royal Armed Forces (FAR) drone recently targeted a Polisario vehicle, resulting in casualties. «The strike occurred on Wednesday in an area east of the Sand Wall. The provisional toll reports three dead and one injured, all members of the 'reserve army' of the Front», a Moroccan security source informed Yabiladi. On Thursday, the head of the «reserve army», Lehbib Mohamed Abdelaziz, who was appointed by Brahim Ghali in October 2024, visited the bereaved families to express his condolences. Despite the gravity of the incident, Polisario media outlets, both official and unofficial, have remained silent. This incident marks the latest in a series of confrontations this year, as Moroccan drones have targeted Polisario elements on three separate occasions. These strikes, which took place on January 11, 18, and 29, were aimed at thwarting attacks against positions held by the Royal Armed Forces or the civilian population. The deployment of the Polisario's reserve forces raises questions about the commitment level of its troops. Meanwhile, under Brahim Ghali's leadership, the group continues to hold graduation ceremonies for new cadres of the «Sahrawi People's Liberation Army». The most recent ceremony was held on January 25 in the Tindouf camps. The Polisario's «reserve army» was established in March 2017 by Mohamed Lamine Ould El Bouhali, shortly after his dismissal from the «Ministry of Defense» by Brahim Ghali in December 2016. The launch ceremony was attended by General Said Chengriha, who was then the commander of the 3rd military region of the Algerian army.
