Brazilian influencer and reality TV star Liziane Gutierrez, who was detained in Morocco following a clash with police in Marrakech, alleges that she was «forced to show officers her genitals» after her arrest when they suspected she was transgender. The model was detained in Morocco for one month. The woman, who boasts 1.5 million followers on Instagram, was arrested while holidaying in Morocco after her purse was stolen near her Marrakech hotel. According to the Mirror, Gutierrez said that before being admitted to a women's prison in Morocco, she «was forced to undergo a genital inspection to prove she's not transgender». «They thought I was a transsexual, so I had to open my legs in front of two women and two men. I have never felt so humiliated», she said from Italy after being released from prison. Liziane recalls what happened in Marrakech. On October 30, her purse was snatched, with her phone inside. Tracking her stolen device, she rushed to the nearest policeman to tell them about the location of her stolen phone. «We saw these guys with the police car near the hotel and we went to contact them», she said. «And we don't speak Arabic, we don't speak French, so I was trying to communicate in English and with Google Translate. They were just ignoring us. So I grabbed the phone and I started to record them», she admitted. Prompted by her filming, the influencer and her partner were arrested and taken to a police station, she said. Her partner was released one night after the arrest, while the influencer stayed in prison for one month. This is not the first time Liziane has gotten into trouble with authorities. Last April, in Ukraine, she was held by police in her hotel room after a mix-up over her documents. In 2021, she was detained after clashing with security guards at a festival in Las Vegas. The model is also widely known for her testimony against American rapper Chris Brown. Liziane accused him of punching her in the face after she snapped a picture of him at a private party.
