A Belgian tourist has gone missing while on holiday in Morocco, his family revealed last week in a social media appeal. Local authorities in Tamri, a small coastal town near Agadir, have been searching for 29-year-old Dries De Graeve from Ghent, northwest Belgium. The young man had been on holiday there with two of his friends since November 12, according to the Flemish daily newspaper De Standaard, which reported the story on Saturday. De Graeve disappeared on the morning of Tuesday, November 18. «He must have left while we were sleeping», his friends wrote on social media. «This is not his normal way of doing things», wrote his sister Kaat in a Facebook post. She stated that both the local police and Belgian authorities are actively looking for him. The last signal from his mobile phone was detected on November 20, the same source added. De Graeve was last seen in Taghazout, a neighboring village, on the same day. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants, is approximately 1.85 meters tall, and has short black curly hair and light brown eyes. «The investigation is being conducted by the police in Morocco, but there is cooperation to find the boy», said the Belgian public prosecutor's office. «The Missing Persons Unit is aware and in contact with the Moroccan police via the federal police liaison officer. The unit keeps the family informed and is ready to assist if Morocco has any questions or requests to conduct an investigation here», it concluded.
