Morocco Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington on Tuesday. Before the talks began, Blinken told the press that they would discuss «a variety of issues that we work on together, particularly stability both in the Middle East as well as in Africa and North Africa». He emphasized that Morocco is «an essential partner to the United States» according to a statement from the US Department of State. Nasser Bourita highlighted that Rabat and Washington are «partners for peace» amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, and challenges in the Sahel, Libya, and Europe. He noted, «his majesty values this partnership. And we would like to work together to bring peace to all these parts of the world». A press release from Morocco's embassy in the US mentioned that the talks covered various aspects of the Moroccan-American strategic partnership, along with regional and international issues.
