The Moroccan national football team defeated Gabon 4-1 in the Morocco-2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (Group B), held on Friday at the Grand Stade d'Agadir. The Atlas Lions opened the scoring through Hakim Ziyech (10th minute), who converted a penalty awarded to Abdessamad Ezzalzouli. Gabon had a chance to equalize in the 16th minute, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a penalty. A second penalty, awarded to Morocco following a foul on Soufiane Rahimi, allowed Ziyech (26th minute) to score his second goal and extend Morocco's lead. The Gabonese Panthers reduced the deficit five minutes before the end of the first half with a penalty scored by Aubameyang. In the second half, Brahim Diaz extended Morocco's lead in the 59th minute, while Ayoub El Kaabi (82nd minute), who came on for Rahimi, added the fourth goal for the Atlas Lions. Morocco, already qualified as hosts, is in Group B alongside Gabon, Central African Republic, and Lesotho.
