On the sidelines of the Kenya Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit on May 9th, OCP Africa signed a significant cooperation agreement with Sierra Leone. «OCP Africa is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Sierra Leone, aiming for a just agricultural transition putting soils and farmers at its core!», OCP Africa said Friday on X. The partnership is meant to «implement a range of initiatives, including last-mile distribution of farm inputs and services, local production of specialty fertilizer, soil health & fertility interventions, digital decision support platform, integrated model farms, and the deployment of demonstration trials», according to OCP Africa. This collaboration comes after Sierra Leone's reaffirmation of support for Morocco's position on the Western Sahara on April 22nd in Rabat. Sierra Leone's Foreign Minister, Timothy Musa Kabba, expressed this support during talks with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita. The agreement strengthens Morocco's diplomatic efforts, as Algeria's attempts to sway Sierra Leone's stance on the Western Sahara have proven unsuccessful.
