The Jordanian national football team, coached by Moroccan Houcine Ammouta, achieved a historic feat today by reaching the final of the 2023 Asian Cup. They defeated South Korea 2-0 in a thrilling semi-final match at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, known as the Al-Rayyan Stadium. Yazan Al-Naimat opened the scoring for Jordan in the 53rd minute, followed by a second goal from Musa Al-Taamari in the 66th minute. This victory marks the first time Jordan has ever reached the Asian Cup final. The two teams had previously met in the group stage, drawing 2-2. This was their third encounter in the Asian Cup, having also drawn 0-0 in the 2004 edition. Jordan will now face the winner of tomorrow's semi-final between hosts Qatar and Iran in the final. Ammouta and his Moroccan coaching staff will be aiming to guide the «Nashama» to their first ever Asian Cup title.
