«Where is Brahim Ghali?» This is the question that has tormented the inhabitants of the Tindouf camps for a few days. And for good reason, the last appearance of the leader of the Polisario dates back to March 16 when he headed a formal graduation ceremony for new police officers. The information relayed by Moroccan media supposing that Ghali would have been injured during the strike of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) of April 7, only fueled the fears of the Sahrawis installed on the Algerian territory. A version that his advisor, Mustapha Bachir Sayed, was quick to deny, in an interview with Algerian daily El Khabar. He assured that Ghali was not among the group sent to prepare the infiltration operation west of the FAR security wall. But despite the heavy losses (two Polisario officers died) following the recent strike by the FAR, the Polisario leader was absent from the media scene which was used to relay his statements and communiqués.
