Following the flooding of clandestine textile factory in Tangier, authorities in Casablanca launched this week a campaign targeting similar units in the city. Police, accompanied by local authorities, have visited industrial units located in residential areas in the city, Hespress reports. The authorities checked the authorizations granted to these units, as well as security measures put in place. In Bernoussi, some units have been closed for not respecting security measures. 28 workers were killed, Monday, while 18 others were injured after the heavy rains flooded the basement of a villa in Tangier, used as a clandestine textile plant. The victims include men and women aged between 20 and 40. Following the tragedy, the local authorities announced the opening of an investigation to shed light on the circumstances of the incident and determine the responsibilities.
