Morocco is a at a critical stage in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, said Monday in Rabat Head of Government, Saaddine El Otmani, while calling for scrupulously observing the precautionary measures issued by the public authorities. Speaking at the opening of the cabinet meeting, El Othmani said the Kingdom managed «through the proactive instructions of HM King Mohammed VI to fight this pandemic as best it can». «But these days, we are at a decisive turn, although the development of cases is still moderate and we are still in the second stage», El Otmani added. He also underscored efforts made to stop the spread of the pandemic as well as the «great mobilization» displayed by the Moroccan people. El Otmani stressed the need to continue mobilization to fight against this pandemic through vigilance and commitment to precautionary and protection rules, particularly given the rise to of local infection cases. He also hailed the mobilization of health workers, security services and productive units that adapted to provide help in these particular times, noting that several enterprises submitted proposals in this regard «that the government adopted and supported to adapt to the needs of the country in these circumstances». El Otmani also mentioned the financial support provided to Ramed-card holders among workers in the informal sector, adding that the government will also provide support, later on, to people on cessation of activity who are not affliated to the National Social Security Fund.
