London hosted, earlier this week, a conference organized by pro-Polisario NGOs in the UK on the human rights situation in Western Sahara. The meeting included «cultural activities, exhibitions, poetry, music, documentaries and debates», the Polisario's press agency SPS reported Wednesday. The meeting in London was attended by Aminatou Haidar, described by the Polisario as a «symbol of peaceful resistance and a victim of forced disappearance». Haidar presented a detailed exhibition on the dispute, saying that «the international community could not put pressure on Morocco to end to its illegal occupation of Western Sahara». Aminatou Haida, who heads pro-Polisario association the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA), is back in the spotlight again. In January 2019, she was part of delegation that visited the Tindouf camps.
