French luxury goods company Christian Dior has released a new makeup primer as part of its beauty collection. The product was put to the test in Morocco, because of its hot atmosphere. According to American women's fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, Dior used the new primer Backstage Face & Body primer on the models who participated to the brand's Cruise 2020 show in Marrakesh. On April 29, Marrakech was home to the first fashion show French luxury label Christian Dior holds in Morocco. Dior's fashion show, held outside the brand's calendar, was hosted by the El Badi Palace, a ruined palace commissioned by the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur of the Saadian dynasty sometime shortly after his accession in 1578. In Morocco, these models looked stunning despite the hot weather. «Models, makeup artists, hairstylists, and the production crew huddled in front of small fans backstage to try and keep cool (…) Everyone was covered in sweat and throwing back cups of water. But their skin? It remained perfectly painted and shockingly (inconceivably!) matte», wrote the magazine. For the record, last month's Dior show in was an opportunity to render homage to French designer Yves Saint Laurent, who lived in Morocco and who worked for Dior at the beginning of his career.
