French football coach Hervé Renard, who currently manages the Morocco national team, has reacted to the decision of Dutch-Moroccan player Oussama Idrissi who chose to represent Morocco instead of the Netherlands, reports BBC Sport. «Congratulations. Oussama Idrissi has decided to play with Morocco national», Renard said on his Twitter account. «His skills and professionalism will be an additional asset for the Atlas Lions», he added. The 22-year-old winger, who currently plays for Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, announced earlier in February that he is joining the Atlas Lions. The Dutch-born player had to choose between the Netherlands and Morocco. In November, Idrissi accepted an invitation to take part in Morocco's training camp, without making a final choice. According to Dutch newspaper Volkskrant, Idrissi explained the reasons behind his choice. «I was born and raised here (Netherlands) with the standards and values of this beautiful country. I am a footballer and I had to make the decision with my parents. I wanted to make the most of myself», he said. He played for several clubs in Hollande, including SV Dosko, FC Bergen, RKSV Halsteren and NAC Breda before joining Rotterdam's club. In 2017, he was transferred to FC Groningen, where he was trained as a professional football player, and joined AZ Alkmaar in January 2018.
