The High Atlas Foundation (HAF) is inviting Moroccan communities to plant thousands of trees offered by the latter during the «Tree Planting day» to take place on Monday the 21th of January, according to a statement released by Foundation. This annual event contributes to the economic, social and environmental development of the Kingdom. The President of the Foundation, Yossef Ben-Meir, declared that «the aim of the day is to promote the spirit of planting at this time of the year, which is the planting season for fruit trees and medicinal plants in Morocco». The planting events are planned in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Boujdour, Errachidia, Essaououria, Fez, Marrakech, Oujda, Taroudant and Taza. «We invite not only farmers and community associations to get involved, but also schools, parents associations, women, cooperatives, children and all those that would like to participate in planting this season's life-giving trees», reported the President of the Foundation. In addition to that, the plants will be provided by the nurseries of the Foundation partnering with Ecosia and the High Commission for Water and Forests. During this day, the Foundation plans to donate 8 000 fruit trees and medicinal plants to communities.
