Tangier police seized, Wednesday, a large quantity of cannabis resin on board a semi-trailer truck parked in a neighborhood of the city. This operation is part of the efforts being made by national police (DGSN) to combat all forms of crime, notably organized crime, Tangier police Commissioner Mohamed Ouhtit told the press, adding that the quantity of drugs seized was hidden in the trailer of a truck parked in the Boukhalef neighborhood. According to Ouhtit, this operation is taking place in the context of the research and investigation relating to the seizure last Saturday of 13.75 tons of cannabis resin, hidden in an international transport semi-trailer parked on one of the quays at Tangier Med port. He noted that today's drugs could equal or exceed the quantity seized at the port of Tangier Med, adding that the investigation is continuing, in close coordination with the directorate general of national territory surveillance (DGST), under the supervision of the competent prosecutor, to dismantle this drug trafficking network and arrest those involved in this case.
