Known as a leader of the terrorist group Sharia4Belgium, Moroccan Imam Fouad Belkacem wants to appeal against the decision that stripped him of his Belgian citizenship. The information was confirmed by the Salafist's lawyer, Liliane Verjauw, says Belga news agency. «The Appeal Court of Antwerp had pronounced its ruling, two weeks ago, stripping him of his Belgian nationality», says the same source. The Belgian news agency indicates that the «lawyer did not want to give further information on the appeal». The lawyer is working on bringing the case of Belkacem before the European Court of Human Rights. For the record, Fouad Belkacem was charged with 27 counts, including «robbery, racism, harassment and threatening». Belga recalls that the man was sentenced in 2016 to 12 years in prison after being recognized as a leader of the terrorist organization Sharia4Belgium. He is expected to be extradited to Morocco.
