Negotiations are currently underway between the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism and the Senegalese authorities to obtain a new license with the objective of strengthening direct air routes between the airport of Fez and Dakar, says Hespress. The Secretary of State for Tourism Lamia Boutaleb told the Parliament today that the Department of tourism is in the process of negotiating an agreement with the Senegalese authorities concerning this question. During an Upper House session in the parliament, the Secretary of State added that the policy adopted in the air transport sector has increased the number of tourists flying to Morocco. She stressed that the number of tourists that arrived in Fez has increased by 50% in the first half of 2018. Boutaleb believes that creating more flights between Fes-Saïss and African capitals will play a very important role in boosting tourism especially for the Zaouia Tidjania, which attracts African tourists.
