King Mohammed VI chaired, Thursday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, a working session to review the progress in renewable energy projects led by Masen, said a statement by the Royal Office. During this meeting, which was attended by head of Government, Saadeddine El Othmani, the King's advisor, Yassir Zenagui, minister of Energy, Mining and Sustainable Development, Aziz Rabbah, director general of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mining, Amina Benkhadra and director general of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water, Abderrahim El Hafidi, and Masen president, Mustapha Bakkoury who presented to the King the forecasts for the entry into service of the Noor solar power plants during 2018, notably Noor Ouarzazate II and Noor Ouarzazate IV. The latter will be operational as of May 2018, while Noor Ouarzazate III will be operational in October, which will make it possible to finalize the Ouarzazate integrated solar complex in accordance with the initial commitments. Noor Laayoune I and Noor Boujdour I will be operational in June this year. Bakkoury also presented the timetable for launching the construction of the first Integrated Wind Program projects. The Noor PV II project, with a capacity of more than 800 MW, which will be implemented in several provinces (Laayoune, Boujdour, Taroudant, Kelaa des Sraghna, Khouribga, Lhajeb, Guercif, Sidi Bennour and Jerada), as a complement to the large integrated solar complexes in order to optimize the national technological mix and contribute to broader territorial development.
