On the highway linking Agadir to Marrakech, a traffic accident occurred in the middle of the day in the rural district of Drarga (3 km away from Agadir). Mohamed Reda Taoujni, an eyewitness, told Yabiladi that a military vehicle that was driven on the wrong lane hit a car on Thursday. According to Taoujni, who posted photos of the accident on his Facebook page, said that «the military vehicle's driver would probably have fallen asleep while driving which may have caused the crash». Even though the car was severely damaged, its driver survived the accident. Indeed, he was «slightly injured», according to Mohamed Reda Taoujni. Having witnessed the incident, the latter said to Yabiladi that «the military truck was part of many others escorted by the Royal Gendarmerie». Contacted by Yabiladi, the prefecture then the Royal Gendarmerie in Agadir stated that they «were not aware» of this accident, adding that «maybe it was managed by the Marrakech Gendarmerie agents and was not communicated to the Agadir station». Also contacted by Yabiladi, the Marrakech Royal Gendarmerie agents said they were not informed of such accident. Meanwhile, Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM), the company in charge of highways in Moroccco, confirmed to Yabiladi in the afternoon that «reports emerged about an accident that occurred earlier in the day, shortly before the entrance of the highway leading to Marrakech from Agadir». However, the accident was not reported on ADM's website. The accident was not officially communicated by the Royal Gendarmerie either, nor could they confirm the destination of the military convoy. But for Mohamed Reda Taoujni, these vehicles probably had to be «en route to the Sahara».
