He was received by Omar Hilale a Moroccan diplomat and Morocco's permanent representative to the United Nations in New York and Princess lalla Joumala ambassador of Morocco in Washington. The royal family flew to Cuba on April the 7th on an unofficial visit where they stayed at the Saratoga hotel in La Havana city. The monarch visit received a lot of attention especially because of the political breakup between the kingdom and Cuba.
