Morocco Consulting Environment Global (MCEG), a subsidiary of Bugshan Morocco, has inaugurated a new water bottling facility in Laqsir, El Hajeb province, backed by a MAD 150 million investment. The site will produce up to 45,000 bottles per hour of ACYL, its newly launched brand of natural spring water sourced from the Sebou basin. The new site has already generated over 300 jobs, including 110 direct positions. Industry Minister Ryad Mezzour, who attended the inauguration ceremony, praised the project as «a model of productive, sustainable investment with strong socio-economic impact», adding that it will «contribute to the development of the bottled water sector and strengthen industrial sovereignty». ACYL also marks a first in the Moroccan water market by launching a «bouchon solidaire» — an attached cap designed to reduce plastic waste and ease recycling. «This innovation meets growing environmental standards and aligns with European regulations», the company said. «This industrial project is a major step forward for our development and for the local economy», said MCEG CEO Hafid Alaoui. «Through this unit, we're committed to meeting the needs of a growing market while upholding the highest environmental standards». The facility includes 360 solar panels covering 40% of its energy needs, along with a wastewater treatment unit that recycles water for irrigation at a nearby organic farm — a move that supports circular economy principles. Looking ahead, MCEG plans to expand its production and distribution, while scaling up its use of solar energy as part of its sustainability roadmap.
