Initial checks conducted by Morocco's National Social Security Fund (CNSS) on certain leaked documents—allegedly the result of a cyberattack and circulated on social media—have revealed that many of them are false, inaccurate, or distorted, the CNSS said on Wednesday. In a statement, the Fund confirmed that its computer system had been subjected to a series of cyberattacks aimed at bypassing its security measures. These attacks led to a data leak, the origins and scope of which are currently under investigation. Upon detecting the breach, CNSS immediately activated its IT security protocol, implementing corrective measures that helped contain the breach and reinforce its infrastructure. Additional resources have been deployed to accurately identify the compromised data. Reiterating that the protection of personal data and user confidentiality remains an absolute priority, CNSS announced that an internal administrative investigation is underway and that the competent judicial authorities have been notified. The institution also urged all citizens and media outlets to exercise vigilance and responsibility, warning against the dissemination or sharing of leaked or falsified information, which could lead to legal consequences.
