The parliamentary groups of the Justice and Development Party (PJD), the Popular Movement (MP), and the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) in the House of Councillors have called for a session in solidarity with Palestine, to be held immediately after the opening of the second session of the fourth year of the eleventh legislature (2021–2026), scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025. Announced on Tuesday, the initiative was launched by the three opposition parties «in response to the massacres, famine, and genocide that the Palestinian people are suffering in Gaza». The request was submitted in a letter addressed to the President of the House of Representatives by Driss Sentissi (MP), Rachid Hamouni (PPS), and Abdallah Bouanou (PJD), in light of the Israeli occupation's resumption of offensives since March 18, following the breakdown of the ceasefire, along with the continued blockade of humanitarian aid and closure of border crossings. In their letter, the three opposition group leaders condemned Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as the desecration of Jerusalem. They described their request as an opportunity for the nation's elected officials to express their solidarity from within the Parliament chamber.
