The Spanish Civil Guard announced on Thursday the successful seizure of over two tons of hashish during a strategic operation on Tenerife's northern coast in the Canary Islands. This operation was made possible by precise intelligence from Morocco's General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). According to the Civil Guard, the operation was initiated following a tip-off from the DGST regarding the potential arrival of a boat carrying a substantial quantity of hashish to the Spanish shores. The operation culminated in the confiscation of 53 bales of drugs, weighing a total of 2,075 kilograms. Six individuals were apprehended in the act of unloading the illicit cargo on the coast of Garachico, as detailed in a press release from the Spanish Civil Guard. In addition to the drug seizure, authorities also confiscated five mobile phones and various documents, as reported by the same source. The detained individuals face prosecution for offenses related to public health and membership in a criminal organization, according to the Spanish Civil Guard.
