On Wednesday, Congolese President Denis Sassou-N'Guesso met with Moroccan Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita and Yassine Mansouri, head of the General Directorate of Studies and Documentation (DGED), as reported by the Congolese presidency on X. The discussions centered on «issues relating to bilateral cooperation between Congo and Morocco, which have enjoyed excellent relations of friendship and cooperation for many years, as evidenced by the high-level visits made by the various authorities to each other», according to a Congolese media outlet. In August 2024, the two nations signed a memorandum of understanding in Rabat to bolster bilateral cooperation in the fields of the environment and sustainable development. King Mohammed VI last visited Brazzaville in April 2018, participating in a summit on the launch of the Congo Basin Blue Fund. This visit by Nasser Bourita and Yassine Mansouri to Brazzaville takes place just weeks ahead of a new African Union summit.
