Police in Kenitra successfully dismantled an illicit digital platform that was facilitating prostitution. This application lured clients by posting numbers, photos, and videos of a sexual nature, offering services ranging from 250 to 400 dirhams. The breakthrough in the case occurred when security officers, posing as potential clients, contacted the number advertised on the app. One of the women involved quoted a price of 400 dirhams for her services and arranged a meeting location via WhatsApp, according to reports from Assabah newspaper. Subsequently, law enforcement conducted a raid on the premises, an upscale residence in central Kenitra. Upon entry, officers found one woman scantily clad at the door, while another was discovered inside. A thorough search of the apartment, conducted with the assistance of a policewoman, led to the confiscation of used condoms, revealing attire, cosmetics, ointments, five mobile phones, and a small sum of money. The two women, identified as being born in 1991 in the Oulad Moussa neighborhood of Salé and 1989 in the Ayaida neighborhood, were taken into custody. Further investigation revealed a connection to a real estate manager from Bouznika, who had been renting furnished apartments to the women for 500 dirhams per day. During questioning, the manager initially claimed ignorance of the illegal activities, stating that the women had rented the apartment under the pretense of working in the industrial area of Oulad Bourhamma. However, she later admitted to entering into a rental agreement with them and receiving a share of the proceeds, though she denied any prior knowledge of the apartment's use for prostitution. The women confessed to establishing the website to attract clients, charging 400 dirhams per session, and frequently traveling between Salé and Kenitra to meet customers. They are now in pre-trial detention at the Kenitra local prison, facing charges of setting up a prostitution den, facilitating prostitution, and public indecency. Their court appearance is scheduled for next Thursday.
