On the occasion of COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, two Moroccan figures in international science, Najat Mokhtar and Ismahane El Ouafi, have sealed an ambitious partnership. Respectively Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Executive Director of CGIAR (Global Consortium for Agricultural Research), they have joined forces to promote science and technology for human development. This agreement addresses major global challenges: food security, environmental sustainability, and equitable access to technologies. Their collaboration illustrates an innovative and inclusive vision. Scientific research will be put at the service of the most vulnerable communities, particularly in the regions of the Global South. In addition to its scientific ambition, this initiative highlights female excellence from Morocco and Africa. Najat Mokhtar and Ismahane El Ouafi embody an inspiring model of female leadership that transcends borders. This partnership carries a message of hope and empowerment, encouraging education, access to science, and the development of female skills, especially in the Global South, where human potential remains underexploited.
