Nabil Ayouch's latest film, «Everybody Loves Touda», has qualified in all the main sections of the Oscars, including Best Director and Best Actress. The film's Moroccan producers are delighted with this «great first for Morocco, which has never before been represented in these major categories». The film is now running multiple campaigns, including for the Oscar for Best International Film, the Golden Globes for Best Foreign Film, the Spirit Awards, the Critic's Choice Awards, and the National Board of Review. After its official selection at the Cannes Film Festival in May and its selection as Morocco's entry for the Best International Feature Film Oscar, the film has reached another significant milestone. Director Nabil Ayouch is immensely proud to represent Morocco in these prestigious international film competitions. Actress Nisrin Erradi, who plays the lead role of Touda, has recently completed a tour of the United States, screening the film in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York to Academy voters. The next major deadline is mid-December, when the shortlist for the Oscar for Best International Film will be announced, narrowing the field to 15 films. In Morocco, «Everybody Loves Touda» will have its national premiere at the Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM 2024) from November 29 to December 7. It will then be released in cinemas on December 11. The film tells the story of Touda, a young woman who dreams of becoming a chikha. She sings ancestral songs of resistance, love, and emancipation in the bars of her small town, hoping for a better future for herself and her son. She eventually decides to leave everything behind and pursue her dreams in Casablanca. «Everybody Loves Touda» is a poetic exploration of love, family, and self-discovery. In addition to Nisrin Erradi, the cast includes Joud Chamihy, Jalila Talemsi, and guest stars Amine Ennaji, Abdellatif Chaouqi, Abderrahim Elmaniari, Mounia Lamkimel, and Abdelilah Rachid. Produced by Ali'n Productions in Morocco, in co-production with Les Films du Nouveau Monde (France), Velvet Films (Belgium), SnowGlobe (Denmark), Viking Film (Netherlands), and Staer (Norway), «Everybody Loves Touda» is sold internationally by MK2 International.
