On Wednesday evening, Brigitte Macron visited the «Mehdi Qotbi Retrospective» exhibition at the Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) in Paris. This exhibition showcases over 100 works by the Moroccan artist, spanning from the 1960s to the present day. In a statement to MAP, Brigitte Macron praised Qotbi's talent and admired his «hypnotic work» that transports viewers into a unique world. The IMA aims to illuminate Qotbi's artistic universe, fostering dialogue between cultures and imaginations. Influenced by Moroccan traditions and European art, Qotbi has invented a «descriptor», a new language blending Arabic letters and signs. The exhibition, which opened on Tuesday, will continue until January 5, 2025. Nathalie Bondil, Director of the IMA Museum and Exhibitions, believes this retrospective offers visitors a chance to delve into over fifty years of Qotbi's creative journey and appreciate the full breadth of his artistic career.
