A partnership agreement was signed on Friday in Rabat between the Integrated Industrial Platform - Midparc and the Canadian company Shimco, operating in the aerospace sector. The agreement paves the way for Shimco's establishment in the Nouaceur free zone. Speaking at the ceremony, which was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, Midparc president Hamid Benbrahim El Andaloussi expressed his honor in welcoming Shimco, a company renowned for its expertise in aeronautics. Shimco is initially committed to a 1,300 square meter module with ambitious growth plans. The company intends to double its capacity within the next three years and then triple it within seven years, reflecting their confidence in the development potential of their activities in Morocco. Benbrahim El Andaloussi also highlighted the strong anticipated demand for Morocco's aeronautics sector, with major aircraft manufacturers like Boeing and Airbus placing orders for the next ten to twelve years. He expressed Midparc's satisfaction with the sector's growing diversification, exemplified by the recent establishment of the Spanish aeronautical group Aciturri, alongside the addition of Shimco. For his part, Shimco CEO Peter Voss emphasized the importance of establishing his company in Morocco due to the country's advantages, particularly concerning production costs. He sees the establishment within Midparc, a booming area in the aerospace sector, as an excellent opportunity. Shimco aims to double its aeronautical production capacity within the next three to four years. Located near Casablanca, Midparc is an extension of the city's existing aeronautical industrial zone (Aéropole). As a benchmark industrial zone in Morocco, Midparc already houses several international companies like Boeing and Stelia Maroc. It boasts an exceptional and unique logistical position at the crossroads of Europe and Africa.
