May 25 is Africa Day. Morocco has decided to commemorate this day by strengthening its dialogue with two major African states that recognize «SADR». Yesterday, Nasser Bourita spoke via video conference with his counterparts in Ethiopia and Ghana. On the Sahara question, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen Hassen, «praised the serious and credible efforts made by Morocco to find a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution to this regional dispute, under the exclusive auspices of the UN», indicates the department of Nasser Bourita in a press release. Addis Ababa also expressed its support for African Union Decision 693, adopted during the 31st Summit in July 2018 in Nouakchott, on the creation of the presidential troika on the Sahara. For the record, Rabat and Addis Ababa initiated, on the occasion of King Mohammed VI's visit to this country in November 2016, a policy of bringing together an economic tone with the creation of the joint venture between the Ethiopian State and the OCP group for the establishment of a fertilizer manufacturing plant in Dire Dawa. Also on Tuesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs met via video conference with his counterpart from Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations. The commemoration of the Africa Day was also an opportunity for Nasser Bourita to meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Niger, Hassoumi Massoudou. On this occasion, official affirmed Niger's support for the Moroccan candidacy for the post of Commissioner of the African Union for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
