Police seized on Thursday an additional 6,902 kg of chira, as part of the investigation carried out by the Kenitra judicial police, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), following the foiling on the same day of an international drug trafficking attempt of 2 tonnes and 10 kg of chira. The drug was discovered inside two metal crates in a container production workshop, in the rural commune of Haddada, about 6 km from Kenitra, said the National Police (DGSN) in a statement. This catch brings the total quantity of drugs confiscated during this operation to 8 tons and 912 kilograms, added the same source, noting that the operation also resulted in the arrest of the owner of the workshop. The latter was placed in police custody for the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office in order to determine the ins and outs of this case and to arrest possible accomplices, the statement concluded.
