A group of Moroccan hackers from the «Moroccan revolution» team announced on Tuesday that they had hacked 9 Iranian government sites. According to Zone-H, an archive of damaged websites, Moroccan hackers indicate having carried out the homepage defacement, namely the unsolicited modification of the presentation of a website, following its hacking by a hacker. Moroccan hackers also reported carrying out mass defacement and redefinitions of said Iranian government sites, most of which have since been restored. The hacked sites belong to counties located in the Iranian province of Kurdistan, located on the border of Iran with Iraq. This operation comes a few days after Iran pleaded for «the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination» during the 9th session of the UN Special Political Affairs and Decolonization Commission. Relations between Tehran, which recognizes the «Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic» since February 1980, and Rabat were cut in May 2018.
